Magic Edit

Magic Edit lets you refine any section of your progress note using natural language instructions.

How to Use Magic Edit

  1. Open an unsigned note and click the edit button to enter edit mode (a signed note shows "Note is locked" — unlock it first)
  2. Click the wand icon (Magic Edit) next to any section header
  3. Type what you want changed — for example:
    • "Make the assessment more detailed"
    • "Add that the client reported improved sleep"
    • "Shorten this section"
    • "Rewrite in third person" Or use one of the built-in quick actions: Make more concise, Add more clinical detail, Use neutral clinical language
  4. The AI rewrites that section based on your instruction — using the session transcript as context when one exists, so additions stay grounded in what was actually said
  5. The rewritten text is placed into the section — review it, adjust if needed, and save

Example Prompts

Tips

  • Be specific about what you want changed
  • You can use Magic Edit as many times as you need — there's no limit
  • Each edit only changes the section you selected, not the entire note
  • Magic Edit works on treatment plan sections too, not just progress notes
  • A Magic Edit isn't final until you save the note — if you don't like the result, edit the text or close without saving
